Our senses are being bombarded by visual media constantly (images, noise, etc) and for many years we have information overload. We are already filtering information on an hourly basis so as not to get weighed down by stuff which has no relevance to our daily life or needs.
However, I do love a good film, a good laugh and a good tune. Not essential to my survival but all help to reset my balance.
"Comedy, love and bit with a dog, that's what they want" a line from a great film, Shakespeare in Love.
MUSIC: Soundtrack for the film It's complicated.
Composers: Hans Zimmer and Heitor Pereira.
Check this fun piece out, iSight Surprise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChygdWol-7Y
A soundtrack is the unseen star of a film. These two guys have written some great pieces for other works.
BOOK: Finding your element by Ken Robinson
How to discover your talents and passions and transform your life.
The book includes exercises you can do and it's good fun to read and work through.
Sadly, Ken Robinson is no longer with us. He was an internationally recognised leader in the development of creativity, innovation and human potential. He was also a great speaker, watch him on TED TALKS.
WEB: TED TALKS Ideas worth spreading https://www.ted.com/talks
TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). From science to business to global issues. Meanwhile, independtly run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
My first TED TALK was by Shawn Achor, The happy secret to better work. It inspired me to read his books on the Happiness Advantage. Really positive for me.
I highly recommend you watch all of Ken Robinson's talks. Inspiring.
You can spend hours with TED TALKS. I gave up watching the news in the morning when having my breakfast and just watched a TED TALK, I felt it was more productive.
